Per organizers (Luma)

Engineers, developers, and hardware builders work with real renewable equipment — solar inverters, EV chargers, battery storage, energy meters — on integrations communities need now, with open hardware/software and AI-assisted design workflows. Teams form on the day; challenge details live on the community Zulip channel linked from Luma.

Challenge themes

ISV Tech Comm may run a village metering / northbound MQTT thread inside these challenges — see Meter Interoperability — but the published themes span domestic DER, EVSE, mesh EMS, and grid interconnection, not only energy access.
